Biography:
Dianne’s art journey began after her retirement from teaching in 1996. Her career as a third-grade teacher extended 33 years, but the seeds of artistic interest were planted several years before she retired. As part of teacher training, Dianne observed a watercolor demonstration which awakened a childhood interest in art. Following that workshop, she dabbled at painting on weekends and vowed that when she retired, she would actively pursue developing her artistic talents.
During years since her retirement, she has kept her vow. She attended workshops with several renowned artists such as Cheng-Khee Chee, Margaret Martin and Jean Grastorf. Her skill and confidence increased as did her desire to become a masterful artist.
Dianne has received numerous awards in national and regional exhibitions. Her work was selected to appear in the book “The Artistic Touch” to be published in 2010. Dianne’s painting “47th and Broadway” appears in the book “Splash 9,” by North Light Publishers . Her art has also appeared in American Artists’ Watercolor Magazine and in North Light magazine.
